Note that there is an option to record sound (default is off) under settings, but this would be from the computer's microphone, so you could narrate the video you are taking. ![]() I didn't have the desire to test it by dropping it into water. Remember that the thumb wheel on USB plug controls LED on/off/ brightness. An IR thermometer showed it to max out at 110 deg F, whether the LED's were on or not. Memory hungry! One minute of video equaled about 600 megabytes, using the default resolution settings.Ĭamera end gets warm pretty quickly. I haven't tested it with higher resolution settings, but I don't expect it to improve the image much, and it would use up tons of memory. For example, you might be able to recognize a face at 20 feet. With good lighting you can see at distance with the same resolution as a cheap surveillance camera. You get good color and resolution at 1 to about 6 inches, which is fine for it's intended purpose. I don't appear to need it, but I'm not going to delete it because it might still be needed for the Smart Camera program to work. The Amcap program kept giving error messages. ![]() I used the included Smart Camera program. I just received it, so I can't comment about it's durablility. ![]()
